2022 – 02/09 The IRS is urging individuals to file a 2021 federal income tax return to take advantage of key tax benefits included in the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and other legislation. In fact, individuals may be eligible for these expanded tax benefits even if they have little or no income from a job, business or other source. The IRS has posted an online fact sheet that explains several of the ARPA’s tax benefits, including the Child Tax Credit, Earned Income Tax Credit, Recovery Rebate Credit and deductions for charitable gifts.
