The IRS launched “authenticated” voice bots this year, and they’re now operating at 100% capacity. The bots, which are powered by artificial intelligence and currently available in English and Spanish, are an advance from previous, “unauthentic” iterations that were able to offer only general assistance. Along with adding languages to the voice bots, the IRS intends to increase their functionality by enabling taxpayers to request tax return transcripts and check balances. If you’d rather talk to a human instead of a bot, please contact us regarding your tax status.
